About the Movie "Una vita per i bambini"
Italian-produced, Maria Montessori: A Life Dedicated to Children is correctly directed, with stories written by Gianmario Pagano (Saint Peter) and Pietro Valsecchi (Saint Francis of Assisi), specialists in recreating exemplary lives. The leading role falls to an efficient Paola Cortellesi.
The story of Maria Montessori the most famous pedagogue of the world. She spent all her life to make her "metodo" (method) accepted in the archaic Italian school system, while the rest of the world immediately understand the importance of her theories. She was the first Italian Doctor, a famous feminist, a scientist. Her private life was hit by having an illegitimate son and by the Fascism that didn't want to accept completely her theories.
Both parts form a careful and extensive biopic lasting more than three hours about Maria Montessori, the first woman to enter the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Rome, Italy, in 1892. She had been poorly accepted by the majority of men and will be especially interested in the world of psychiatry, where she begins to treat children of low social status and family backgrounds, most of them abandoned in asylums. Little by little she will dedicate her life to the little ones, innovating with pedagogical methods aimed at making children people who could face life in the future.
